ARBOR DAY

Nebraska is one of the states of U.S.A. In 1867, Nebraska was admitted to USA as the 37 th state, shortly after the American Civil War.
Nebraska ´ s government operates under the framework of Nebraska ´s Constitution adopted in 1875 and is divided into three braches: executive, legislative and judicial.

The most important thing is that it is the only state in the USA with a unicameral legislature.

The larguest city is Omaha and Lincoln is the capital.

The main celebration is Arbor Day. It began in Nebraska in 1872 but nowadays it is a popular day in other countries like China, New Zeland and Norwain…

Arbor Day is always celebrated the last day in April and was established by J. Starting Morton of Nebraska city. He was the editor of Nebraska ´s first newspapers. His influence as a journalist led to his involvement in politics but the lack of trees was an obstacle because without wood for building houses or for fuel to heat homes, few found it convenient to settle there. This is the main reason that Morton proposed Arbor Day as a day to plant trees.

In conclusion, Arbor Day is a day to plant and dedicate a tree to help nature and environment. Millions of trees are planted on this day.
